Noel Higginbotham

Noel Higginbotham is CEO and a director of the institute with over 30 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and Vocational Education and Training.

He started his working life an apprentice Fitter / Machinist and attended evening classes to advance his knowledge and skills in Engineering and Information Technology. For over 20 years Noel managed his own consultancy business in IT and Engineering and was an active member of the Australian Army Reserve for 12 Years. Noel has many years of practical engineering experience working on various engineering projects including; RAAF F111 and FA18 Super Hornet projects with Tasman Aviation at RAAF base Amberley, working with Honeywell on oil, gas and process control systems, Raytheon, Santos and Australian Drafting & Design. Noel still does consultancy work within the engineering Industry.

Noel has a Certificate IV in Training and Assessing, Certificate III in Drafting, Diploma of Manufacturing Technology, Diploma of Teaching (Adult and Vocational Education) and a Bachelor of Education. He has developed curriculum and taught within many subject areas of the Advance Diploma of Mechanical Engineering. Noel is passionate about education and training and believes in improving the lives of people through education.

Noel has an extensive list of skills including; Engineering Design & Drafting, Computer Programming, Systems Administration, Project Management, Teaching, and Business Development.
